Sara is the new Music Academy administrator. She understands the importance of private music instruction and strives to keep the academy the best that it can be.

Sara is a senior at the University of Nevada, Reno studying Anthropology with a minor in Music. Her musical career began when she started playing flute in 4th grade. Her main instrument is Oboe and took private lessons on the instrument for 6 years. She has played in groups such as the Reno Philharmonic Youth Orchestras, the UNR Orchestra, the Reno Pops Orchestra, and she played Piccolo in the UNR Marching Band and Pep Bands.

If you're looking for a piece of sheet music, Doris is your lady. She has been running Carpenter’s Sheet Music department since 1980 and claims Carpenter's carries a little bit of everything and we'll special order anything." Doris has taught both children and adults for 50 years and specializes in beginning piano students.

Doris has been playing the piano since she was 8 years old and is the organist at her church. While not quite a native, Doris has lived in Nevada since middle school and was a member of the first graduating class of Reno High.

Bob has been keeping Carpenter’s pianos in tune since 2003. He preps new pianos for sale and tunes and repairs customers’ pianos both in-home and in the store.

Bob played piano as a child and went on to major in music at Humboldt State University. As a piano player, Bob realized learning to tune the instrument would improve the sound of his performances. This practical interest turned to a professional avocation when he discovered his fascination with piano mechanics. Bob continued his education with a Piano Technical Credential Program at the New England Conservatory in Boston and became a Registered Piano Technician with the Piano Technicians Guild in 1981. He is the current President of the local piano guild chapter.

While Bob still enjoys playing piano, his real passion is singing. He is a member of the Nevada Opera Chorus and sings in a local madrigal group.
